Getting familiar with databases and how SQL concepts fit in

  • Get an introduction to SQL, allowing you to both understand and practice the fundamentals of this mission-critical domain-specific language.
  • Data warehouse concepts. Learn everything you need to know about how data warehouse concepts are one of the major keys used to guide management decisions across an organization.
  • Dimensions, measures and related concepts. Learn about the various mechanisms of SQL and, more importantly, how they all fit together.
  • Facts and Dimensions tables. Gain a deeper knowledge of the relationships between tables in a database and how they all come together to form a cohesive whole.
  • Star and Snowflake Schemas. Find out more about what different schemas mean and what they allow you to do.
  • Find out about Primary and Foreign Keys, including what they are and what they enable you to do.

Retrieving and manipulating data using SQL statements

  • Learn everything you need to know about retrieving data using the SQL Select statement, something that will come in handy day-in and day-out during your career.
  • Get an overview of simple SQL commands, deepening your understanding of the fundamentals.
  • Working with conditional expressions like “Where,” “Having” and understanding when and how to use them
